Surfactant-Free Precious Metal Colloidal Nanoparticles for Catalysis

چکیده
Colloidal syntheses of nanoparticles (NPs) are one the preferred approaches to prepare precious metal catalysts. Unfortunately, most colloidal developed require stabilizing agents avoid NP agglomeration and/or control size and morphology. While these surfactants can bring positive features, they typically block catalytically active sites on surface. As a consequence, additives often need be removed by energy time consuming steps, at risk complicating synthesis, introducing irreproducibility negatively altering structure properties prepared Fortunately, several surfactant-free have been reported being developed. This Mini Review addresses challenges in defining synthesis NPs survey established emerging strategies obtain NPs. A focus is given that show promising features bridge gap between fundamental applied research towards industrial applications.

Metal-Free Catalysis for Efficient Synthesis
The strength of efficient metal-free catalysis will be examined in this thesis. Efforts towards more sustainable processes will be demonstrated through implementation of strategies that meet several of the 12 principles of Green Chemistry. In the first part, a stereoselective total synthesis of multiple alkaloids from the Corynantheine and Ipecac families together with their nonnatural analogue...

Gold has been used as a therapeutic agent to treat a wide variety of rheumatic diseases including psoriatic arthritis, juvenile arthritis, and discoid lupus erythematosus. Although the use of gold has been largely superseded by newer drugs, gold nanoparticles are being used effectively in laboratory based clinical diagnostic methods while concurrently showing great promise in vivo either as a d...
متن کاملNovel Surfactant-Free Stable Colloidal Nanoparticles Made of Randomly Carboxylated Polystyrene Ionomers
Ionomers consist of macromolecules with a few mole percent ionic groups attached to the hydrophobic backbone. The introduction of the ionic groups on a polymer chain can dramatically change the bulk properties, such as the glass transition temperature and miscibility with other materials.1 Most of the past studies of ionomers were concentrated on their rheological properties. In nonpolar solven...

متن کاملMetal-free carbonylations by photoredox catalysis.
The synthesis of benzoates from aryl electrophiles and carbon monoxide is a prime example of a transition-metal-catalyzed carbonylation reaction which is widely applied in research and industrial processes. Such reactions proceed in the presence of Pd or Ni catalysts, suitable ligands, and stoichiometric bases. We have developed an alternative procedure that is free of any metal, ligand, and ba...
